  • 10 oz mushrooms (button or baby bella)
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 34 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 ½ cups beef broth
  • ½ cup dry white apple vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté sliced mushrooms until golden brown (5–7 minutes). Remove from skillet.
  3. Add olive oil to the skillet and brown the seasoned chicken breasts for 6–7 minutes on each side. Remove from skillet.
  4. Whisk flour in the same skillet until lightly browned, then gradually add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
  5. Stir in soy sauce, onion powder, mustard powder, thyme, vinegar, minced garlic, and bouillon cube; bring to a simmer.
  6. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry; stir into sauce to thicken.
  7. Return chicken to the skillet; simmer for an additional 20 minutes on low heat. Just before serving, stir in heavy cream.
