  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup hot fudge sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just mixed; avoid overmixing.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan and drizzle half of the hot fudge sauce over it. Repeat with remaining batter and fudge sauce, swirling gently with a knife.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Allow cooling in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
