  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup cooking sake (or rice vinegar)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 scallion (cut into strips)
  • 3 dashes black pepper powder
  • 2 inch ginger (peeled and coarsely diced)

Instructions

  1. Clean chicken wings and pat dry. Marinate with soy sauce, cooking sake, sesame oil, scallions, black pepper, and ginger for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, combine honey, soy sauce, mirin, and cooking sake until thickened.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (207°C). Arrange marinated wings on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
  4. Brush wings with glaze; bake for another 10 minutes. Repeat glazing and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes until browned.
