  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup warm water or warm milk
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 7 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer bowl with a dough hook, mix flour, instant yeast, and salt.
  2. Add warm water or milk, honey, and 1 tablespoon butter; knead until smooth (about 1-2 minutes).
  3. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes to an hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  6. Fold in half and cut into strips; twist into knots and place on the baking sheet.
  7. Combine remaining butter with brown sugar and cinnamon; spoon over knots.
  8. Bake for 16-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar, cream cheese, vanilla extract, and water until smooth; drizzle over knots before serving.
