  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup butter (for crumb topping)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for crumb topping)
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for crumb topping)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (for crumb topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a non-stick donut pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon for the crumb topping. Add cold butter cubes and blend until coarse. Freeze while preparing batter.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, light brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, combine sour cream, melted butter, and egg; fold into dry ingredients until just combined.
  4. Fill each donut mold and top with the chilled crumb mixture.
  5. Bake for 10-11 minutes or until they spring back when pressed. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a rack.
